We were delighted to help spread some festive cheer in Cupar by making food and financial donations to the local Foodbank.

Representatives (pictured) from the clubs’ 2006s, 2007s, 2008s, 2009s age groups and the newly formed girls team collected and donated over 20 bags of food to the Foodbank who have helped feed more than 4000 people around the Cupar area since it opened in 2014.

The club was also able to make a sizeable financial donation of £700 to the Foodbank’s work which was running at a potential deficit for the year. The money was raised collectively by the clubs 2006 age group and by five AM Soccer Club representatives who participated in this year’s Dundee Kiltwalk, raising funds for the club’s work in and around the community in the process.

The Foodbank give out 280KG of food per week and will be delivering over 130 Christmas hampers and parcels for those less fortunate over the coming days.

The donations were handed over by the players to the Foodbank and its manager Fiona Findlay on the 10th of December.  Fiona said “It amazes me the awareness young people have for the need for foodbanks”

“The kids are so fantastic and raised such a phenomenal amount of food. It gives me hope for the future! We just want to thank everyone involved”

John Craig, chair of AMS said ““Being a charity ourselves, all of us at AMS are acutely aware of local needs; our core aim is to foster and promote educational, health, social & life skills  within the local community, therefore we are very lucky that our own members, many of whom are children, were keen to get involved and assist in this small way”.
